Experienced Textile / Surface Pattern Designer Wanted
We have a client based in Mumbai, India – supplying to many major brands in the UK such as Harlequin, Prestigious, Ashley Wilde to name a few – who is offering 2 experienced UK designers the opportunity of a 6-month contract to work in the Design Studio at their mill ASAP – this can be extended as many designers do – if you like the work and they like you.
Over the last 15 years we have sent many designers to India – so you can talk to them about their experiences before you decide to take the job. Many of them have returned to the UK and with this experience on their CV have found excellent design jobs within the industry for example for Romo, Prestigious, Next & Harlequin.
All that is required is that you have a degree in Surface Pattern, Weave, Embroidery or Print design with excellent drawing skills and minimum of 5 years’ experience. They are particularly looking for skills in Embroidery but will consider specialists in weave and print too.
The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by our client in Feb/March 2019 and the successful designers will travel out to India to join the other English-speaking designers who are already working with the mill at a time that is convenient for all parties.

The mill produces approx. 1.8 million metres per month.
They produce embroidery, weave and print fabrics.
They currently have a team of 16 designers who all speak English
They use the AVA CAD SYSTEM, Nedgraphics and Zsk Embroidery
You will be working on design, colour and customer projects.
The company will arrange and pay for all your travelling expenses including the return flights along with the Visa and Insurance.
You will stay in a high-quality apartment with dining, kitchen, lounge facilities. You will have your own bedroom. This is all paid for by the company. It is only 20 minutes from the office and has easy access to social life.
In addition to your paid for accommodation you will be paid £2,000 – £3,000 per month salary.
You will work 5 days a week Monday – Friday (9:30am – 6pm with one-hour break) ** sometimes when leading up to an exhibition you will be expected to work late into the evening to hit deadlines.
You will also be required to work 2 Saturday every month.
You will receive 30 days paid holiday a year this includes 6 national holidays.
The company will pay for a return trip to the UK every 3 Months so you can spend your holidays in the UK if you wish.
